Faced with the proposed Astral Developments planning application to create a massive intermodal freight facility at the former Parkside Colliery, Newton-le-Willows, local residents have formed The Parkside Action Group (PAG) from across the three Boroughs of St Helens, Warrington and Wigan. The aim of PAG is to stop such an inappropriate development of 672 acres of Green Belt in our residential area and to find a more appropriate use for the footprint of the old collery site, which will better suit our community and to preserve the area's current Green Belt status. The Parkside Action Group (PAG) is a non-political group formed by residents from across the three affected boroughs of St Helens, Wigan and Warrington. Residents not already involved in the Group are invited to join in the activities in which ever way they can contribute. Contact members of the Committee to discuss ways in which you can support the work of The Parkside Action Group. |
